Doug -

There are a couple other marathons during that period that are pretty flat from what I understand. Hampton may be the way I'm leaning, but I'm not sure...the %age of qualifiers at Bay State is VERY alluring!

Thanks for asking about the knee...it's still a bit on the tender side, but every day is better than the day before. Hopefully I'll be ready to run again by Monday, if not the weekend.

Way to gut it out buddy! How awesome to get a PR only 2 weeks after Boston! I'm proud of you buddy. You did well. Wishing you a speedy recovery, and hoping that the knee is okay. Maybe I'll see you at Bay State as I'm seriously thinking about it as my Fall marathon. I'll probably only see the back of your head for a short while as I will be seeking my redemption in an attempt at the sub-4 hour marathon that I missed in Boston...

Congrats on a great effort, and with a bum knee no less! Definitely not the best of conditions. Once that sun came out, it was deadly!

You nailed it on the camraderie, was really cool. Also, definitely no 24 mile marker. I think it would have been early on that bridge with the narrow walkway. Also, there was no 26 marker, I think, which messed me up, as too hard to tell how far to the finish until you hit that last turn.

I really enjoyed the way the course was well marked, the volunteers were enthusiastic, and the cops kept the cars far out of the way of the runners.

Luau, you are awesome! Man, to think you could PR so soon after Boston... It's a true testament to your strong will and excellent training. You're going to get that BQ before you know it. P.S. Love the human charity billboard! :)
